Malaysia AirLines Hanger Desiccant Dehumidifier
Background
A hanger of Malaysia Airlines stores airplane engine. To prevent the precise components of the engine not get rusted, a desiccant dehumidifier is required to maintain 35%±5% humidity level, while the room temperature is not a big a issue.
Client provided below information:
- Current Room Temperature: 26 oC
- Current Room Humidity: 54% RH
- Existing Air Conditioning Unit: none
- Room Size (W * L * H): 22m*28.6m*7m
- Desire Room RH to Achieve: below 40% (35%±5%)
Solution
KAWASIMA design & fabricate a 7000CMH desiccant rotor dehumidifier for this hanger. The dehumidifier could remove up to 50kg/h moisture at 20oC, 60% standard intake air condition.
Meanwhile, to ensure the uniformity of the humidity level for the hanger, we designed an air distribution ductwork system for the hanger.
Client is happy; the humidity reached 35.6%RH within one hour.
